The header is a key navigational element of any website, which is why it deserves proper attention. It always needs to be usable, understandable, and clearly visible so your visitors can quickly find their way around. In short, they should be able to rely on it as a cornerstone. In version 250, we've added a few changes to the product to push headers to the next level—a level where you can style them much more flexibly and make your website even more user-friendly and visually appealing.
So, let's dive into the new features.
When a Standard Header Just Isn't Enough
Typically, you could set a lot of properties for headers, like whether they're sticky or what color they are. Picture a classic scenario: you have a light-themed website where the header elegantly darkens as you scroll down, ensuring it's always perfectly readable and the links are easy to see. That works great.
But what happens when you want to spice up your site and put a dark section or a large image on your homepage? All of a sudden, that standard header doesn't work anymore. In its default state, it's unusable, and everything is hard to see. And this is precisely the situation we've created a solution for.
The Solution? An Inverse Header and an Alternative Logo
For these cases, we have a module we call the inverse header, which you can optionally turn on. If this module is available, just go to the settings for a specific page and choose the "inverse header" option. Once you save, you'll immediately see a different style applied to the header.
This version might not be perfect right out of the box, though, and may need a little tweaking. And that's where the other new features come into play.
Fine-Tuning Colors and the New Alternative Logo
When you switch over to the appearance settings, you'll now find a new section for the Alternative Header and its settings. Here, you can fine-tune the colors to perfectly match the specific situation you're designing for.
What's more, we've also added the option to use an alternative logo. So if you have a dark header, you can simply select a light version of your logo, which will be automatically applied only to this alternative header. This allows you to achieve a really polished and professional result.
A Perfect Result on Every Page
And the best part? As soon as a visitor starts to scroll, the color scheme automatically switches back to the standard header, which remains consistent across the entire website. For your regular, light-themed pages, the original header version is still used, of course, since it works perfectly there.
This way, you can beautifully enhance your site's visuals, make it stand out, and break free from the cookie-cutter look that some websites have. You'll be presenting the main navigation element in a more aesthetically pleasing form, adding extra value for your client.
So, those are some of the new features for headers, and we're definitely not stopping here. In future versions, we plan to keep working on them and make setting up these advanced headers even simpler.
